As for the bike: 1FG stands for: One Fuc#ing Gear, and that’s all it is 32 up front and 18 in the rear. The ride is a demanding ride, on the flat you pedal/spin, going up its an all out effort, standing and pulling. Going down is a blast, you Coast (this is your recovery time…enjoy it) the frame is Light but not forgiving, its snappy aluminum, the head shok is flawless, nice and rigid when locked and plush when open. The Avid Mech brakes are great, I was used to hydraulic brakes but these work fine, I am using a Thomson stem at the moment but in the future plan to add a titanium post to soak up some vibration.
This Singleseepd uses an Eccentric bottom bracket which allows vertical dropouts without a tensioner. Another addition which I added was the lock on grips, when climbing you tend to stand and pull much more so the added confidence is great. The bike is about 24 lbs with the stock 2.3 High Rollers from Maxxis. They´re Amazing
An all around great ride, I must say its great as a second bike unless you’re a total masochist , which is fine, and for you Beer lovers… the rear drop out is a Bottle opener for the post ride Beers, Cheers
